My love and passion of counseling has been driven by a strong belief in the power of an individual to overcome obstacles and expanding their “toolbox” of skills.  Helping others become their best and transform their future is probably one of the greatest adventures that I have experienced. I believe that the best therapy starts with a genuine, empathetic and honest relationship. Therefore my style is warm and at times humorous.  I incorporate many interventions from various theories such as: cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, client centered, interpersonal, and narrative solution   I approach counseling with flexibility and concentrate on individuality.  This helps people to expand their vision for the future and meet their goals. By developing a true appreciation of a client’s strengths and working together, clients are able to learn about themselves and to begin to change.  I enjoy working with individuals and couples struggling with different life stages.

We all carry complexities from the past. By helping people experience their emotions, rather than avoid them, we are able to grow into the rich lives and relationships we deserve.  Drawing from extensive experience and utilizing empirically supported treatments, I often treat depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief.

I challenge my clients to become empowered to take control of their lives by identifying and utilizing their resources and strengths, both internal and external. I love to share my view of therapy as a collaborative process and enjoy teaming up with clients to help them assess their needs and accomplish their goals in life.
